WHO: Alcohol will not save from coronavirus

Alcohol consumption will not help protect against infection with coronavirus of a new type, said the official representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tarik Yazarevich RIA Novosti. The use of strong alcohol or any type of alcohol is not an effective measure to prevent COVID-2019 infection, he said. Yazarevich added that currently the most effective method for disease prevention is personal hygiene and ventilation of premises. According to the news agency, previously the adviser to WHO Ayru Longini did not rule out the possible infection of coronavirus of a new type by about two thirds of the population of planet Earth in the most disadvantaged scenario. In his opinion, strict quarantine measures in China were taken too late, and the virus was able to penetrate from the PRC to other states.
