Estonia announces plans to produce Baltic armoured personnel carrier
Estonia, Latvia and Finland intend to jointly develop common technical requirements for a prototype of a new armoured personnel carrier of joint production, the press service of the Estonian Defense Ministry reports on April 8. According to the Secretary of the Defense Ministry Christian Prikka, it is about the development of an armoured platform of the wheel system. This can become the foundation for strengthening the defense capacity and the prerequisite for the creation of new workers. The new armoured vehicles will have to replace the Pasi armoured personnel carriers produced in 1980 in Finland, 140 of which now exist as part of the Estonian Defense Forces.
