Military suspected of trading helicopter parts detained in Ukraine
Employees of two military units suspected of illegal sale of parts from helicopters were detained in Lviv region. This was reported by the press service of the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. The press service noted that the suspects could organize a scheme of illegal write-off of military equipment of units on the balance sheet of which were Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters. Soldiers sold expensive spare parts to aircraft to representatives of interested commercial structures, the message reads. During the searches, at the duty station and residence of the suspects, spare parts and money were seized. According to preliminary data, the losses caused amounted to about $30 thousand. According to the news agency, earlier Ukrainian intelligence officials identified a large batch of parts of military radio stations that wanted to be taken to Russia.
