Sweden developed a new coronavirus test
Researchers from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, together with Chinese colleagues, developed a new coronavirus detection test. According to a study published in the journal Clinical Chemistry, the test can be performed without modern laboratory equipment and produce results within about half an hour. This was reported on April 23 by the Swedish newspaper Fria Tider. Today, the so-called PCR analyzer is mainly used to test whether a patient has been infected with coronavirus. The PCR assay method allows very small amounts of infectious agent to be detected. Analyses require temperature changes during manipulation of the collected biomaterial. However, such testing can take several hours. Recently, researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, the Shenyang University of Chemical Technology and the Huachjon University of Science and Technology in China conducted an experiment to create a new coronavirus test, the results of which are described as promising. The researchers adapted the so-called loop mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) method. This technology allows you to get the result within 20 40 minutes.
