Hyundai Sonata was praised for safety by NHTSA
The upgraded Sonata hybrid models of the South Korean automobile manufacturer Hyundai Motor received the highest safety rating from the National Track Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This is reported on May 1 by Yonhap News with reference to the company's message. Hyundai said in a statement that the eighth-generation Sonata sedan and its hybrid version received five stars in rollover and side impact tests, as well as four stars in head-on collisions. Sonata gasoline and hybrid models are also equipped with all safety technologies recommended by the U.S. agency as standard equipment is collision warning system, lane departure warning system, automatic emergency braking and braking assistance. Recall, the modernized Sonata 2020 model, which works only on gas, received the Top Safety Pick award from the Institute of Road Traffic Safety (IIHS) in February.
