The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament called on the Government to act
The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berry, called on the Government to act, not to negotiate indefinitely. This is reported by Reuters on May 22. It's time for the government to get started. Action is required, not words, Berry said in a comment to the agency. According to the policy, the authorities of the country should help citizens to cope with the severe economic crisis in the country, but instead they continue to negotiate with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Recall, the severe economic crisis hit Lebanon as early as October 2019. The situation was exacerbated by mass protests as well as an outbreak of coronavirus infection.
