Georgian Prime Minister on Pandemic: Nothing Is Over

Georgia's health system has coped with the challenge posed by the spread of coronavirus. This statement was made on June 18 by Georgian Prime Minister Georgy Gakharia, speaking before the presentation of the annual report of the head of the country's Ministry of Health, according to Georgian Public Television. We are all well aware that nothing is over, everything continues, and the faces of our citizens, which I see here today, exude calm, Gaharia said. The head of the Georgian government noted that there are countries that, unlike Georgia, could not successfully counter the pandemic. He also stated that the reforms initiated in recent months should ensure the stability of existing achievements. Recall that in Georgia, experts record a fairly low level of coronavirus distribution compared to many countries. In total, as of June 18, 894 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were identified in the country. Among the sick COVID-19, 14 people died. To this end, strict quarantine restrictions were imposed in Georgia.
