In Japan, created a robot that destroys coronavirus indoors

The Japanese company Farmroid has developed a robot that automatically processes the surfaces of rooms from influenza viruses, including the SARS-CoV-2 virus, using ultraviolet light. It is reported by the newspaper Asahi. It is emphasized that the tests of the UV Buster robot were successfully carried out in the hospital at the Faculty of Medicine of Nihon University. As a result of testing the device, it was found that from a distance of 10 cm and in about two and a half seconds it almost completely (99.9%) kills influenza viruses. However, it is not specified how long it took the robot to destroy the coronavirus. According to journalists of the publication, sales of the device will begin in July this year. It is planned that the devices will be used in hospitals, airports and offices to prevent the second wave of coronavirus infection. At the same time, it is noted that ultraviolet, which the robot processes surfaces from a distance of ten centimeters, can damage the retina of the human eye. According to the news agency, earlier American scientists found that short-wave ultraviolet rays destroy coronavirus in five minutes, while being absolutely harmless to the eyes and skin of a person.
