Iranian Minister: country sells gasoline to Venezuela at market price
On June 26, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zangane announced that the Islamic Republic is selling gasoline to Venezuela at a market price. This was reported by the Iranian agency IRNA. Zangane noted that the continuation of exports depends on further negotiations between the two countries. Reacting to US sanctions against Iranian captains who carried gasoline to Venezuela, he emphasized that such a step was not a surprise. At first they tried to bribe them, but they refused the offer. Then they threatened and decided to punish them, Zangane said. According to him, some countries believe that Iran sent gasoline to the South American country for free, which is not true. They paid for gasoline at a fair price and provided the necessary payment guarantees, he said, adding that some of the money had already been received. Earlier, Iranian oil tankers moored in a Venezuelan port after passing through the Atlantic Ocean and the waters of the Caribbean Sea in order to help the friendly people of Venezuela cope with fuel shortages caused by unilateral US sanctions against this country.
