Lower House of Congress approves state status for US capital

The US House of Representatives praised the initiative to give the American capital state status. Voting on this issue took place in the lower house of Congress today, June 26. 232 deputies of the lower house voted in favor of giving Washington (the capital of the United States) the status of a separate state, 180 opposed.
