In Bulgaria, talked about the causes of the accident on the gas pipeline
The cause of the accident on the Bulgarian-Greek gas pipeline, passing in the area of the village of Kulata near the border with Greece, was pipe wear. This was announced on July 28 by the executive director of Bulgartransgaz Vladimir Malinov in an interview with bTV. We believe that the most likely cause of the accident is the aging of the material, since the gas pipeline was built in 1990 1992, it is about 30 years old, the executive director said. He also noted that this section of the gas pipeline was not included, because its audit was carried out in 2014, despite the fact that the technical inspection of the gas pipeline is carried out every ten years. In addition, Malinov said that as a result of this accident, gas supplies to Greece were temporarily suspended. We have mobilized all necessary resources and will try to eliminate its (accident) consequences as soon as possible, said the executive director of Bulgartransgaz. Note, as reported by the news agency, on July 27 it became known that an accident occurred on the Bulgarian-Greek gas pipeline in the area of the settlement of Kulata near the border with Greece, when local residents noticed cotton, after which there was a sharp drop in pressure in the gas pipeline at the compressor station.
