In Colombia, arrested suspects in a terrorist attack in a cadet school

Eight suspects in organizing a terrorist attack at a cadet school in the capital of Colombia were detained by Colombian judicial police and prosecutors during a joint operation. This was announced by the Prosecutor General of the country Francisco Barbas on the page of his department on Twitter. He noted that the detainees face from 40 to 50 years in prison. Colombian President Ivan Duque stated that the suspects were members of the rebel National Liberation Army (ELN). According to the news agency, on January 17, 2019, an explosion in the cadet school named after General Santander killed 21 people and injured 68.
