Lukashenko to his supporters: you don't need to protect me, protect the country

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko urged his supporters who gathered at Independence Square in Minsk not to think about protecting him, but to focus on protecting the country and independence. The rally takes place today, August 16th. I didn't call you so you wouldn't protect me. I called you so that you could protect your independence, your wives, sisters and children. I did not want to call you to the square: you have a lot of things to do and worries. You clean the bread and get the kids to school. I remember the nineties: here there were workers with pans and asked to feed the children. And then I vowed to help you and prevent squares and rallies, Lukashenko said.
